Transformer Action FiguresWay back in 1984, with the collaboration of Takara and Hasbro, the Transformers came into world as toys. As the name suggests, the toy parts can be shifted about to change it from a vehicle, a device or an animal to a robot or also vice versa. Overall, the Transformers are divided into two fractions; the heroic Autobots and their opponents, the evil Decepticons. In Japan, these factions are known as Cybertrons and Destrons respectively.Later, as they gained popularity, Transformers started as an animated Television series on Claster television, a company organized by Hasbro. The story behind the animated TV series goes something like this; Centuries ago, in a distant planet of the universe, called Cybertron, a war was fought between the Autobots and the Decepticons, which are robots having the ability to transform themselves into vehicles and weapons. When the supplies of energy source, the energon, ran low, the Autobots launched a spacecraft to locate a new source of energy. They were attacked by the Decepticons and during the course of their war they ended up landing on earth. Their ship got buried underground and the transformers were deactivated in the crash. Due to an eruption, four million years later the ship came to the surface and the transformers regained their original form with the help of their automatic repair system. Also, they acquired the ability to transform themselves to mimic the machines on Earth. With the background of above mentioned story, of late in June 2007, Transformers came as a much awaited live feature-length movie. The film created a lot of hype, and surely it didn't disappoint anyone, with the action figures and toys driving the fans crazy. The movie is directed by Michael Bay under the sponsorship of Steven Spielberg. In the movie, the war of Transformers starts anew, with Autobots trying to protect the Earth from Decepticons, who have the cruel intentions of enslaving the humanity. The lead human role in the movie is played by Shia LaBeouf with supporting roles played by Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and Megan Fox. Peter Cullen played the voice of Optimus Prime, the leader of Autobots and Hugo weaving voiced Megatron, the chief of Decepticons. The movie is an excellent example of technical achievement showing the transformations as live action. To truly enjoy the movie it's necessary to have a reference accompanying Transformer action and the toy line. Many Transformer toy series were released in US of which here are listed few; Transformers Generation I, Transformers Generation II, Beast Wars, Machine Wars, Beasts Machines, Robots in Disguise, Go-Bots, Armada, Universe, Energon, Alternators, Titanium etc. But, before starting out a collection it's wise to decide what kind of collector one wants to be.
