Pokemon action figures

Pokemon is a household name in today's time. Pokemon was created by Satoshi Tajiri around 1995 and is owned by the videogame giant Nintendo. Pokemon holds the second position when it comes to the most famous gaming series, losing out only to it's own makers creation “Mario”. After it's release pokemon can be seen in variety of form, you have the anime series, trading cards, pokemon toys, books, you name it and you have it. You can imagine the success of pokemon by looking at its sales figure, as per the latest sales report the videogame sold a mind-boggling figure of 155 million copies. Pokemon has been enjoying this success for ten years now, as the franchise celebrated its tenth anniversary on 27 February 2006.

The name pokemon is actually a contraction of the word, “Pocket Monsters”. Just kike deer and sheep do not have a plural form is the same way pokemon is the same whether singular or plural. You can say pokemon as well as many pokemon. It is amusing to know that the now famous pokemon was not intended to be known by this name, the designer Nintendo earlier had decided that he would name his creation as Poketo Mansuta, but he could not keep this name as a result of a conflict with the toy line, monster in my pocket. The catch phrase that was to be used in Japan was “Lets get pokemon” (English language translation) but the catch line that was to be used in English was “Gotta catch ‘em all!” This catch phrase is no longer in use. This is only used in some of the side episodes that are aired under name pokemon chronicles.

In the Pokemon anime series and videogames there is a fictional electronic device called pokedex. In the pokemon games whenever the pokemon is first captured, its data will be added to the pokedex of the player. Although this not the case in case of anime. Here pokedex is more of an encyclopedia. It gives the names of all the pokemon by number.

The pokemon anime series are different from the games. In the anime series and the movies the pokemon adventures are separate from the canon that is used in the gaming series. The anime follows the search for the main character Ash Ketchum (known as Satoshi in Japan). In the series he and a group of friends travel along the fictitious world of pokemon along with other pokemon partners.
